"Ever since I could hold a pen" Said my Mum when I asked her when I took an interest in art. For as long as I can remember most weekends I'd get out of bed, grab some paper and a pencil and sit in my pyjamas and draw whatever came to my mind. Art has always been my number 1 love within interests and hobbies.. everyday life for as long as I can remember. What other people find 'boring' I find breathe taking. My mother Louise was previously an Art student, My Grandad, Cedric (My Dad's dad) Also had a passion and skill in art; from this, I feel I have inherited my art knowledge and passion from both sides of the Family. My Grandad especially had a massive impact on my life, we were very close and he supported everything I did with in my art and general life.
As time has gone by I find my style and taste has changed. When I was younger my main subject matter was Animals like most children however, I didn't enjoy colouring books I always felt it lacked creativity. To this day I still have a pile of old colouring books that family gave me, The kind where characters and objects were drawn way out of proportion, the paper wasn't a pure white it was as if it was made out of saw dust and pressed. Then the pencils you were given to colour in these pictures barely made a mark, the most it do is create a dent in the paper or probably go through it, Also the pencil lead wasn't soft, you couldn't actually feel the colour come off the pencil if you know what I'm talking about.

At the age of 13, I produced my first tonal pencil portrait which back then I thought was great, 7 years later with knowledge of face proportions it's actual poo. But that one drawing kick started the rest of my art future. From then to this day my main subject matter is portraiture. Through out secondary school, this movement carried on all the way to my final year when I was doing my GCSEs. I did 2 water colour portraits which Got me an A at GCSE. After I left Helena Romanes (Secondary school) They displayed my final pieces (I wanted them back lol) I then moved to Saffron Walden County High School (The best move of my life) where I learnt and developed new art school and mind set which I feel has had a massive impact on the art I do today. Most recently I have found a desire for historical art but I've noticed I have a certain hatred for contemporary/ conceptual art.
When I finished my first year of Sixth form (an education level for A-Levels) In double art I had a whale of a time but photography not so much. Half way through the year I had trouble getting to grips with the work load. I would say I'm the person you wouldn't see doing essays and office work, but when it comes to art, I could write endless amounts. Photography wasn't one of my strongest areas even though it was art based. Digital work I enjoyed in my own time. how ever digital work for school work that was based around a theme, and esPeCiAlLy an0lLOguUeEE PHOTOGRAPHHYY was a no no. It was nothing to do with school or teachers, I believe my dislike for those areas souly was my fault, I didn't like the dark room at all it made me uncomfortable and test strips and exposure always went wrong for me.

I graduated from Saffron Walden with an A,B and C. A and B being my double art and my EPQ with the C.

I'm now in Cambridge doing my Foundation in Art & Design, i have found this past year in Cambridge useful in I have used this year to develop my skills and learn other techniques such as screen printing which was very fine, however the other work and set projects were futile, this did not have an affect on my mood or motive as at the end of the day its extra experience and time.
Future?
I hope to finish My HND at Cambridge and go into a Tattooing apprenticeship. I've been wanting to go into tattoo since i was 15!
